Orders & delivery
Where do you deliver?
The store accepts delivery addresses across Pakistan. Include your city, house or flat number, street, area, and a nearby landmark. The owner will confirm delivery arrangements with you.
Do I need to pay online?
No. Cash on delivery is the default and only payment method. There is no card form or online payment gateway.
How do WhatsApp orders work?
Checkout first saves your order to the store. Then tap Open WhatsApp and send the prepared message. Opening WhatsApp is not the same as sending it. If the number has not been configured, use website checkout.
What happens after I place an order?
Your order starts as Pending. The owner can move it to Confirmed, Dispatched, Delivered, or Cancelled. Keep the order reference shown after checkout; the owner uses your mobile number to confirm arrangements.
Are my delivery details public?
Your name, phone, address, and order notes are encrypted before they are saved. The private decryption key is stored in the owner’s private account storage. Product images are public; do not upload identity documents or private files.
Can I place an order while offline?
No. Ordering needs an internet connection so prices and stock can be checked and the order can be saved. The installed store shows an offline help screen when a page cannot be loaded.
A little store on your home screen
Open the published store directly in Chrome on your Android phone—not inside the editor preview or another app’s browser. Open Chrome’s three-dot menu, select “Add to home screen” or “Install app,” and confirm.
The store includes its own manifest, home-screen icons, and service worker. Installation uses the published HTTPS address. If the install option does not appear immediately, interact with the store, wait briefly, and reopen the Chrome menu.
Use Chrome’s menu to install. An in-app install button appears when Chrome makes it available.
Owner setup & free publishing
Complete these steps before accepting customer orders.
- 1Open the owner dashboard and sign in with the same GenMB account that owns this app. No customer account can access owner functions.
- 2Select Enable checkout. This creates an encryption key pair and saves your private key to your owner account. Keep access to that account.
- 3Add your products, upload their photos, set PKR prices and stock, and clear the demo catalogue. Sample products cannot be checked out.
- 4In Settings, enter your real WhatsApp number with country code 92 and no leading 0. The temporary setting is intentionally blank so orders never go to an invented number.
- 5Use Publish in the GenMB editor. Choose an available free subdomain when prompted, and open the published HTTPS address in a new browser tab. You do not need a paid custom domain.
- 6Place a small test order with your own details. Refresh the owner Orders screen, check the saved delivery details, change its status, and test the WhatsApp Send step.
- 7On Android Chrome, open the published address and use Add to home screen or Install app. Test the installed store online; checkout requires an internet connection.
What the free version uses
Catalogue and encrypted orders use the built-in key-value store, with images in file storage. They remain saved after refreshing or reopening. This is persistent built-in storage, not a relational database. A managed database is a Pro feature; you can upgrade to Pro or connect your own Supabase project for free from the editor’s Database panel. This version does not add a paid gateway or integration.
The owner dashboard and its mutations check ownership on the server. Free shared storage does not offer full database row policies or transactional stock reservations. Orders use account-specific keys and encrypted contents; only the server-authorized owner dashboard lists all orders. For a higher-volume production store, connect Supabase or upgrade before relying on automated stock allocation.
Orders are not automatically emailed or sent through WhatsApp. Customers tap Send themselves. The dashboard saves orders and statuses; you handle customer confirmation and update stock manually.
